Our Venues
Front Lawn
2023 Productions: Carmen, Waterperry Prom This year we have introduced new raked seating on the Front Lawn. There will be 300 seats on the grass/ground level and a further 200 raked seats towards the back. The stage is also raised. This production will be popular, to guarantee the best seat, book early.
The Front Lawn is our main performance space and can't be missed. Access is close to the carpark and flat. |
Amphitheatre
2023 Productions: Double Bill, Roald Dahl's Revolting Rhymes For the first time this year we have introduced allocated seating in the iconic Amphitheatre. For our Double Bill show you will need to book a seat, but for Revolting Rhymes there will be no allocation and spaces will be first-come first-served. Cushions can be provided but we suggest bringing blankets/pillows to enhance your comfort and enjoyment of this outdoor performance space.

Waterperry House Ballroom
2023 Productions: Mansfield Park, YA Galas, London Handel Festival Recital, Come & Sing The Ballroom will operate a mixture of reserved and unreserved seating for 2023. Our most popular show Mansfield Park (which is always a sell-out!) has reserved seating but other events and productions in the Ballroom are unreserved and operate first-come, first-served.

Garden Glade
2023 Productions: Vivaldi's Four Seasons, Peter Rabbit's Musical Adventure Seating is unallocated in the Garden Glade is very casual - we invite you to sit, stand, lie or walk around the performance area. There are some seats provided around the space for those with access needs. Please bring your own folding chairs, picnic hamper, blanket and cushions if you wish.

Stone Hedge Garden
2023 Productions: King Harad's Saga Space is limited in the Stone Hedge. We will provide a limited number of chairs and there is also standing space. The location is a little futher from the box office than other spaces so please arrive early to be escorted through the gardens.

Event Tent
2023 Events: Pre-show Talk ‘Carmen: From Page to Stage’, Post-show Talk ‘Jonathan Dove: Writing for Opera’, Post-show talk: ‘The Making of King Harald's Saga’, Pre-show talk: ‘A Double Bill of Music & Mythology’ The event tent is located near the entrance and the box office. There is limited space but seating is provided. If the event is at capacity you are able to stand outside if the weather is clement.

Ticket Delivery
All our tickets are delivered electronically to your email. Once you arrive at Waterperry you will need to collect a wristband at the Box Office. Please show your e-ticket on your phone, or print the ticket off at home to exchange for your (and your parties) wristband.
On-Site Box Office from the 11-20 August
During the festival we open a physical box office on the Waterperry Estate. All ticketholders must collect their wristbands from the box office before entering. The opening times are:

Cancellations, Exchanges & Refunds

Please be reassured that should an event be cancelled, (except bad weather) you will be offered an option of a refund or exchange to another performance.
We don't make a decision to cancel a performance until the advertised start time. If weather conditions seem challenging on the day of a performance please make additional plans to bring appropriate clothing and protection (note: umbrellas are not permitted during any performances). We are experienced at producing outdoor theatre and have contingencies in place for most weather conditions.

Cancellation: If a show is cancelled because of bad weather, your ticket can be exchanged only (for more on exchanges please read Exchanges below). You acknowledge that an integral part of the experience of the Waterperry Opera Festival is that most of the shows are performed in the open air and that they can be adversely affected by the weather.
If a show is cancelled for any reason except bad weather, your ticket can be exchanged, subject to availability, or refunded.
Exchanges: To exchange your ticket for a show that has been cancelled, complete the online form available here. You can obtain a new ticket to a later performance of the same show, subject to availability, or to another show at the Festival (or hold on to the ticket and exchange it for a ticket to a show at next year’s Festival). If the price of the new ticket is more than your original ticket, you will need to pay the difference if it exceeds £20.

Refunds: You can obtain a refund for a show that has been cancelled (except by reason of bad weather). Only the price of your ticket is refundable. This excludes any booking fees, delivery charges or any other expenses that may have been incurred. All requests for refunds must be made within 3 months of the date of the cancelled show.
