Established in 2023 by co-founders Harvey Lok (Director) and Alicia Hunt (General Manager), Hemiola is a vocal ensemble formed by former choral scholars of The Choir of Royal Holloway, alongside friends and fellow singers met along the way. The group draws on some of the UK’s finest emerging talent, with singers also performing with The Sixteen, Voces8 Scholars, Siglo de Oro, Tenebrae, the Oxford Bach Soloists, and more.

In spring 2025, the ensemble completed their first tour with a reflective programme inspired by Christina Rossetti’s Good Friday, and in July 2025, Hemiola was honoured to headline the Brecon Choir Festival, marking another significant milestone in the ensemble’s growing artistic journey.

The group are due to complete their first recording session in the VOCES8 Centre this November, and can’t wait to be featuring in Waterperry Opera Festival’s Winter Season.
