By Car

Waterperry Gardens is located just 7.5 miles east of Oxford and easily accessible from the M40.

  • From the M40 northbound, exit at Junction 8a and follow the brown signs for “Waterperry Gardens.”

  • From the M40 southbound, exit at Junction 8 and follow the brown signs.

  • For SatNav users, please enter OX33 1LA.

You’ll be guided by our friendly team of festival stewards, who will direct you to the appropriate parking area on arrival.

Parking at the Festival

Parking at Waterperry Opera Festival is free of charge for all ticket holders. Please follow the on-site signage and steward directions when you arrive at the estate.

Here’s how parking works across the site:

  • Disabled / Accessible Parking:

    • Patrons with accessibility requirements should park in the designated accessible bays located in the main Gardens car park, straight ahead when you enter the estate gates.

    • These spaces are closest to the Festival Box Office and formal gardens.

  • General Parking (Opera Ticket Holders):

    • All other patrons should turn immediately right upon entering the estate and follow the signs for Opera Parking.

    • This area provides easy access to the Box Office Tent (by the Picnic Lawn) and is a short walk from all main performance venues.

  • Dining Pavilion Parking:

    • Patrons with bookings in the Dining Pavilion should turn right and then continue along the drive, following it all the way around to the top, where you will find reserved Pavilion parking.

    • Please refer to the Festival Map for assistance.

Our stewarding team will be on hand throughout the day to guide you safely and efficiently.

By Train

The nearest train station is Haddenham & Thame Parkway, which has regular services from London Marylebone (approx. 40 minutes) and Oxford (approx. 25 minutes).

From the station, Waterperry Gardens is around a 15–20 minute taxi journey.

We recommend booking a taxi in advance, especially for evening performances.
