About and accessing our performance spaces:

Front Lawn of Waterperry House (Carmen & The Waterperry Prom)

Accessible for wheelchair users and others with limited mobility. Please note Carmen will be performed on the front lawn of Waterperry House. The seating area is flat and on grass, with rubber matting in the aisles wheelchair access. Seating will be set out slightly ajar from the row in front to maximise the best view of the stage. This year we also have a raised seating area towards the back.

​We have allocated seat for Wheelchair users & companions on the lawn.

Amphitheatre (Double Bill & Roald Dahl's Revolting Rhymes)

The route from the Box Office to the Amphitheatre is on one level ground and is a 5 minute walk. At the back of the amphitheatre we will provide a limited number of chairs. These chairs are exclusively for the use of those unable to sit on the concrete raked tiers, and for those accompanying wheelchair users. 

Due to limited space we do not allow audience members to bring their own chairs into the amphitheatre.

Please note the Amphitheatre is raked seating, with steep steps leading to the stage, and is made of concrete, cushions will be provided but you are welcome to bring your own cushions for extra comfort.

Waterperry House Ballroom (Mansfield Park, Young Artist events, Come & Sing and LHF Recital)

The ballroom is located on the first floor of the house, easily accessible for wheelchair users and others with limited mobility via a lift. Seating for this performance is unreserved, if you would like to reserve access seating for you and a friend please contact access@waterperryoperafestival.co.uk

The Garden Glade (Vivaldi's Four Seasons & Peter Rabbit's Musical Adventure)

This performance space is located within the gardens, access to this area is via a grass lawn, it is all on one level however wheelchairs may find it a challenge. 

There is no seating for these performances, we ask attendees to bring a picnic blanket to sit on or if attendees wish to stand they can. If you would like to reserve access seating for you please contact access@waterperryoperafestival.co.uk

Stone Hedge (King Harald's Saga)

This performance space is located at the far end of the gardens, access to this area is via a grass lawn, it is all on one level however wheelchairs may find it a challenge and it is the longest walk from the box office.

Audiences will sit or stand for these short performances, but if you would prefer to sit we can provide a chair. If you would like to reserve access seating for you please contact access@waterperryoperafestival.co.uk 

Accessing the House and Gardens: ​

The garden paths are all on one level; visitors with limited mobility, or are in wheelchairs, may find some uneven ground throughout the garden. 

Events are spread out across the Waterperry estate, and the gardens are extensive. Please keep this in mind when planning your visit. If you would like extra time to make your way to a performance space please mention this one of the volunteer stewards who can be found in the Box Office and around the site. A separate unisex accessible toilet is available in our main toilet block situated in the garden’s main car park.

Assistance Animals: Assistance animals are welcome to all areas of the festival.

Discounted Tickets for Carers

Access bookers can book a discounted ticket for themselves and one companion or carer if the following categories apply to you.

- Registered disabled
- Have a blue badge
- Receive PIP
- Receive funds from the DVLA
- Have a Disabled Persons Freedom Pass or Railcard
