Young Artist Gala
14 & 18 August
Location: Waterperry Ballroom
Duration: Approx. 1h Details: 4pm start | 5pm finish approx. Come and see our Young Artists present a Gala concert comprising of selected arias and ensembles from a variety of different operas. This is an exclusive opportunity to witness the talent of the next generation of bright opera stars in the intimate setting of the Waterperry House ballroom.
Run by Rebecca Meltzer, our Young Artist Programme offers artists at the beginning of their careers the opportunity to develop their skills and hone their craft in a safe and exciting environment. The programme offers mentorship and training in contemporary opera practice and collaborative theatre-making. Young Artists will be mentored by Festival Staff and external practitioners throughout the programme, and singers will receive a number of coachings and performance opportunities. These are free events, with a suggested donation. Due to expected high demand a ticket must be purchased in advance to secure your place. |
Peter & His Puppets Craft Workshop
10 & 17 August
Location: Waterperry Orangery
Duration: Approx. 20mins per session Details: 3 slots from 1:45pm until 2:24pm It’s time for our young audiences to get creative! Whether you’re a first-time puppeteer, or a puppet-making prodigy, we welcome all of our Peter & the Wolf young audience members to explore their artistic skills and bring their own puppets to life.
During these free craft workshop, we’re inviting our young audience members to make their very own animal puppets, inspired by those featured in the show. Participants must be accompanied by an adult, however we ask that there is only one adult for every 3 children participating in their workshop due to limited space. Recommended age for participation is 5 – 12 years old. Available slots:

Come and Sing with Waterperry Opera Festival
11 & 17 August
Location: Waterperry Ballroom
Duration: Approx. 1hr Details: 1:45pm start | 2:45pm finish Now it's your turn! Come and join Waterperry Opera Festival's Head of Music, Ashley Beauchamp, in the gorgeous Waterperry Ballroom for your chance to sing some of the most beloved choruses from the operatic repertoire! We'll also be joined by one of the professional singers from our 2024 season. Whether you have been singing all your life, or are brand new to opera, everyone is welcome.
This event is open to all Waterperry Opera Festival audience members aged 10+. No experience needed, and there is no requirement to be able to read music. This is a free event with a suggested donation. Due to expected high demand a ticket must be purchased in advance to secure your place. |
