Waterperry Opera Festival is the perfect environment for all ages to enjoy opera and classical music. For our Messiah by Candlelight, four exquisite evenings await surrounded by candlelight and festive decorations with an ensemble of renowned singers and period instrumentalists.
For performances at Waterperry House (9th & 10th December) - Ticket includes a choice of a complimentary glass of sparkling wine, mulled wine or soft drink on arrival, and a mince pie and nibbles. A paid bar will be open for guests to purchase further beverages. Performances will take place in the ballroom, and finish at approx. 9:20pm. Seats are allocated on arrival on a first come first served basis. There is no dress code. The evening is focused on music and merriment, please feel free to dress as you choose. By Car: Exit the M40 (Junction 8a North Bound/Junction 8 South Bound) and follow the brown signs for 'Waterperry Gardens'. There is sufficient parking on site at Waterperry for all our festival guests. By Train: The nearest train station to Waterperry is Haddenham & Thame Parkway. There are regular trains from London Marylebone. Attendees can book a taxi service from the station: Cabco Taxi Haddenham - 01844 299444 By Taxi: We will have a taxi drop off and pick up point at the front entrance gate of Waterperry Gardens. Notify a volunteer steward when you arrive and they can direct you to where you need to go. For Taxi services the pick-up point is the same as the drop off point at the front entrance gate of Waterperry Gardens. By Bus from Oxford: From Oxford City Centre take the Arriva Bus 280 to Church Road, Wheatley. From there, please prebook a taxi to Waterperry Gardens (OX33 1LA). Seating InformationSeating will be unreserved at Waterperry House and will be first come first served. Seats/positions will be allocated on arrival in each performance space. When booking, all you need to do is choose the performance you wish to see. Please double check you have chosen the correct date and time of the performance of your choice.

Quite simply, whatever you like! We have a very relaxed family atmosphere at Waterperry Opera Festival, and all we want is for our festival-goers to enjoy themselves. Dress up if you like, but we don't have any formal dress code. As it can become cooler towards the end of the evening, we recommend that you bring layers. Latecomers Latecomers for each of our productions will be admitted as soon as is appropriate, where there is a break in the drama. Amenities We will have toilets on site, which will be clearly signposted. These toilets are located in the Garden Shop car park a 5 minute walk from the Box Office.
